Pretty...

...but what is it?

Answer: It's the flower of the plant that's against the fence just outside our kitchen window.

Answers telling me what the heck it's actually called (and whether Ted can eat it) on an e-mail to the usual address.

Thanks to both Carole and Alex for informing us that it's a passion flower... in fact, Alex quite kindly passed on the following...

Just a quickie... I believe that's a passion flower: LetsGoGardening.co.uk

Isn't google wonderful? Other links suggest it's used as a herbal sedative, but another says it shouldn't be given (I think it means in drink form) to children under 2. Unripe fruit might not be a good idea, but that's probably true of most fruit. So I probably wouldn't be encouraging Ted to scoff it, but I also wouldn't be too worried if he had a nibble, especially around bedtime.

Thanks, all.
